Shimpei Yoshida
Shimpei Yoshida was born in Nara, Japan in 1992 and graduated from Kyoto University of Art and Design in 2014. Tokyo-based Yoshida paints portraits with quiet and subdued colors. In 2018, he participated in an artist-in-residence program at Frise, an artist-run space in Germany. Since then, Yoshida has been developing a series of colored pencil portraits based on found photography and installations inspired by his personal experiences.
