Shohei Sawai creates delightful oil paintings with a sense of exhilarating brushwork. Sawai paints landscapes and figures that appear in daily life at a speed reminiscent of a diary. Although seemingly ordinary, his works often draw viewers into a parallel world that lurks within the paintings. This world carries the essence of various movie genres and feels like a novel once read.
