Shoko Otake
Shoko Otake has developed a distinctive approach to printmaking, combining woodblock printing on paper or cloth with the frottage technique. She employs the use of small woodblocks on a repeated basis, resulting in the creation of simple and complex images. In 2024, the artist created and exhibited new works on commission from fashion brands such as The North Face Purple Label and Maison Margiela.
The title 'Re:Re:Re:PRINT' is inspired by the idea that the process of printing multiple layers of plates is reminiscent of the back-and-forth exchange of email replies.
We are also delighted to present the records + picture book 'Yume no Tamago' (The Egg of Dreams), a collaborative work with musician Tomo Katsurada, which will be on display and for sale.
