Shotaro Sanada
Shotaro Sanada thoroughly abstracts elements extracted from real landscapes to create under the theme of "creating new landscapes." He graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts Faculty of Fine Arts in March 2024 and currently conducts his artistic practice while pursuing research at the University of Tokyo's Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies. His research focuses on expanding expression through artificial intelligence and exploring the roots of human creativity.

Sanada believes that whether in nature or the city, landscapes extend vertically from bottom to top. He begins his artwork by designing the final composition and colors based on landscapes captured in sketches or photographs. During the conceptualization phase, which includes setting themes, conceptualization, and articulation of knowledge, he spends time sketching vertical flowing strokes that express temporality and gravity, improvising along the design plans.

In this exhibition, the focus will be on three new works of his major painting "Process Landscape," showcasing his representative works.
