Shun Kataoka
Shun Kataoka was born in Kyoto in 1984 and began working as a photographer in 2010. Since the beginning of his career, he has focused on the relationship between "nature" and "people" in his photographic works.
In this exhibition, he will present "Life Works," a series of photographic works set in a single garden, created from the beginning of his career to the present. The color of green that begins with a single seed that falls to the ground continues to change each time it germinates, and the artist continues to photograph it as if to bring those changes to hand.
Kataoka has been photographing the changes as if he were trying to bring them forward. There, the traces of not only the plants but also the hands of the people involved in the place coexist, mixing in unexpected ways. The workings that have been continued in the deep green surroundings. In conjunction with the exhibition, the photo book "Life Works" will be published by Akaakasha.
