Artists

Shun Sudo
The artist Shun Sudo will be hosting this special exhibition at the Zen temple Ryozan-in in Gion, Kyoto. Known for his borderless and timeless works, including designing this year's 24-Hour Television (Nippon TV) charity T-shirt and creating an art wall at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 skateboarding venue, Sudo has consistently presented dynamic pieces. Confronting his identity rooted in "Japan" and delving into the long "history" of Kyoto and Ryozan-in, Sudo was inspired by the beautiful garden and serene atmosphere of Ryozan-in.

The result is a series of new works, including the folding screen painting "Eternal Moment," where the everyday motifs of "buttons" that connect fabric to fabric and the peaceful symbol of "flowers" are docked together. This iconic motif, the "Button Flower," boldly represents the positive idea of "connecting" people and the world. Experience Shun Sudo's new artistic exploration at Ryozan-in, surrounded by its scenery and atmosphere.
