Shuto Okayasu
The first solo exhibition by New York-based artist Shuto Okayasu in Kansai features new canvas works and sculptural pieces. Okayasu is known for reconstructing daily life through photos and drawings to create unique mental landscapes. The main artwork, "Drowse/Quiet Dawn," centers on the Monarch butterfly, symbolizing hope and crossing boundaries in response to global issues. It combines Okayasu's memories of encountering the butterfly in New York, inspired by philosophical readings and current events, weaving together diverse memories into a single canvas that explores dualities and interconnected worlds.
