Artists

Sosai Inada
Sosai Inada, born in 1949 in Uji, Kyoto, apprenticed under the influential calligrapher Shiryu Morita at the age of 23. After Morita's passing, Inada became the representative of the Bokujinkai. Inada embraces Morita's belief that calligraphy is the fruition of one's way of life, and creation is the fruition of history, an expression of society, and also the embodiment of oneself. Inada utilizes the entire body, swiftly creating characters and infusing vibrant energy into them. The exhibition showcases Inada's continual exploration of bringing character structure to life, inviting viewers to appreciate the dynamic works resulting from the pulsating energy inherent in Inada's life.
