Sounousuke Sato Exhibition

Naha Cultural Arts Theater NAHArt
Finished

Artists

Sounosuke Sato
Sonosuke Sato, a poet from Kawasaki, Naha's sister city, traveled to Okinawa in 1922 and published "Ryukyu Shotofu Butssushishu" at the end of that year. Many of the poems in this collection are unique in that they consist of the title of the poem, followed by a Ryukyuan song, the name of the section to which the song is sung, and the poem itself. This project will feature the collection of poems in the exhibition and performance, and visitors will experience the world of the poems through the performance and recitation of Ryukyuan classical music.
