Artists

Kazuto Ishikawa, Yuki Hashimoto
Kazuto Ishikawa and Yuki Hashimoto have been collaborating since the 2019 Fall-Winter season, and have presented items under the keyword "process of information accumulation," which is also the concept of Ishikawa's production technique, at the fashion brand Yuki Hashimoto. In the same year, Ishikawa presented “Encoding," a series of works using fabrics from the Yuki Hashimoto collection as subjects in his solo exhibition.

Ishikawa speculates on the state of photographic techniques and the uniqueness of photographic expression in the digital and SNS age, and Hashimoto develops a worldview from concepts that respond to the context of fashion and the zeitgeist of art and music and forms them into clothing.

This exhibition presents work that straddles the boundaries between photography and fashion and the limitations of their respective techniques, and that can be seen as traces of experimentation, created through a series of exchanges between the two, for example, canvases printed using the instantaneous nature of Polaroid, and dyed and cut as an act that references fashion. The works are produced in the form of a series of exchanges between the two artists.
