On its 10th anniversary, TAV Gallery will feature the Yuji Kubo Collection Exhibition "Share Your Bread," held across Paichu and TAV Gallery.

"Share Your Bread" showcases the collection of Yuji Kubo, a new-era collector, featuring works he has collected at TAV Gallery and new pieces by participating artists linked to ArtSticker for a limited time. "Share Your Bread #1" will be held from Tuesday, August 6, 2024, to Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Paichu in Roppongi, featuring Kubo's collection. "Share Your Bread #2" will be a group exhibition introducing new works by 10 artists from Friday, August 16, 2024, to Sunday, September 1, 2024, at TAV Gallery in Nishiazabu.

TAV Gallery debuted as a curation platform (2014-2019) and has hosted over 100 exhibitions with numerous independent curators, featuring 305 artists from Japan and abroad.

This exhibition centers on the art collection of Yuji Kubo, acquired from TAV Gallery between 2014 and 2024, and aims to provide a platform for dialogue and mutual understanding in contemporary art. Influenced by the Narodnik movement painters he encountered in high school, Kubo was drawn to art appreciation. He later developed a strong interest in contemporary Japanese art through Makoto Aida’s "I’m Sorry I’m a Genius" exhibition, where he made his first purchase at TAV Gallery. Kubo is a new-era art collector whose collection activities are contextualized around the theme of "war."

The title "Share Your Bread" suggests the expansion of personal identity and authority, exploring the importance of coexistence and sharing as a group. The exhibition's opening on August 6, the anniversary of the Hiroshima atomic bombing, reflects the divided global situation and subtly conveys an anti-war message. The participating artists, each with different ideologies and gender backgrounds, embody the theme of dialogue and mutual understanding through their diversity.
