Tadanori Yokoo
Published in March 2022, "The Forest of Harago" (Bungeishunju) is a book in which the protagonist Y talks with famous people in various fields such as art, novels, and movies, transcending time and space. 500 pages of grandiose art and life essays highlight Tadanori Yokoo as an artist learning from his predecessors, as a leader and witness of postwar Japanese culture, or as a simple boy born and raised in Nishiwaki City, Hyogo Prefecture.

This exhibition will display Yokoo's works related to this novel, along with words extracted from the novel, in an attempt to construct a three-dimensional world expressed only in words, with the addition of images. Visitors will have the opportunity to physically experience Yokoo's art, which has taken shape over more than half a century, by entering the forest-like exhibition room where Yokoo's words and his drawings are woven together.
