Taka Saito, Moeka Tsuge
Bambinart Gallery is pleased to present the two-person exhibition “The Gaze of Time” featuring works by Taka Saito (b. 2001, Yamagata) and Moeka Tsuge (b. 1999, Tokyo).

Saito captures fragments of everyday life, transforming them into landscapes that resonate with his motifs, while Tsuge is distinguished by her delicate brushwork that conveys the subtleties of light and atmosphere. As painters of the same generation, they each develop distinct modes of expression, yet both take ordinary scenes and subjects as their motifs. Their gaze goes beyond mere representation, evoking fleeting moments held within the flow of time.

The exhibition title The Gaze of Time reflects two dimensions: “time” as the duration of one’s engagement with a subject, as memory, or as the evolving relationship during the act of painting; and “gaze” as the mode of perception, the approach to a subject, and the way one positions oneself in relation to the world. The perspectives inscribed on the canvas by these two painters invite us to consider how the world is mirrored in their vision. Their works offer viewers new ways to confront the “time” that has been captured and transcribed onto the pictorial surface.
