Born in Kyoto, with the tradition-backed Kyoto ware as his backbone, yet struck by the primitive charm of pottery on the African soil, KANO Takao pursues ceramics that bridge timeless antiquity and the future—the “relics of the future.” Existing in a modern world where virtual and reality coexist, he seeks tangible texture, striding confidently between art and craft.
This exhibition centers on the theme of “pots,” a lifelong pursuit for KANO Takao, featuring new objects and a rich variety of works fired in a climbing kiln. They're sure to hit your sweet spot!
