The third generation of Nushi Ichitomi Takao Togashi has created new lacquerware that conveys the fascination of lacquer, using techniques such as “Aizu Tamamushi-nuri”, which shines like the wings of a tamamushi (jewel beetle), and shibuichi-nuri and tetsusabi-nuri, which express a metallic texture. This time, he has further expanded the possibilities of lacquer by incorporating leather style and bekko-nuri. This exhibition will showcase a variety of works of tableware and art pieces that combine practicality and beauty.
