At the solo exhibition "Takehiro Terabayashi Exhibition - LIFE-" held at the Shimoyama Art Museum Power Station Museum in Nyuzen-cho, Shimoniikawa-gun, Toyama Prefecture from October last year to March this year, Yoshimi Arts will exhibit the artwork "1925- (1995-)" created during a total of 50 days of stay, commuting from his residence in Hiroshima to the museum and painting the scenery inside the museum. The numbers in the title of the work represent the year the power station was built and the year the museum was renovated. In addition to the works created during this stay, the exhibition will include works selected by Terabayashi himself from those exhibited at the Power Station Museum, as well as his latest works.

While many artists today utilize media such as photography in their artwork production, Terabayashi consistently stands in front of his subjects and paints through his own eyes, spending the majority of his time creating art in front of the subject. In a world where most people see objects and events through the internet as two-dimensional or flat information, Terabayashi, who also studied design at university, understands that seeing with the eyes is more logically superior to machines recognizing things, and he creates works with a strong commitment to seeing objects.

Moreover, Terabayashi says that when he feels a special emotion and genuinely wants to paint something, that feeling represents all of his works, and it is the desire to paint insignificant things in his everyday home that makes up his works.

In this stay-and-create project, Terabayashi approached it with the above attitude, and his production approach was featured on numerous local TV stations, newspapers, and art magazines, receiving favorable reviews from many viewers.
