Takeo Takei
Kinder-Book is a monthly picture book for young children that was first published in 1927 and is still being published today. Takeo Takei joined as an artist in 1928 and became an editorial advisor in 1955.

In 1926, a kindergarten ordinance was issued, and observation was added to the list of childcare items. Kinder-Book was loved by many caregivers, parents, and children as a magazine that focused on this element of observation and was closely aligned with early childhood education. Takei's goal was to nurture children's emotions and make observation more accessible by incorporating fantasy and play into a magazine that tends to be more like an illustrated book, with an emphasis on observation.

His work, carefully drawn down to the last detail, never cuts corners just because it is intended for children. This exhibition will focus on Takei's drawings for Kinder-Book and Kinder Story Picture-Book.
