Tamihito Yoshikawa
Tamihito Yoshikawa is inspired by the ever-changing weather and particularly by the aspects of wind and light that vary with each season. He captures the essence of cherry blossoms, swaying winds, tense air, and the shimmer of sunlight with his unique sensibility, anchoring them onto canvas with rich colors and delicate lines. Using trowels and painting knives, he layers oil paints on the canvas, then scratches and scrapes them off. At times, he throws a small amount of paint onto the canvas, scattering vibrant hues across it. The rhythmic lines merge with the depth of space, reflecting natural landscapes within the canvas. In recent years, his themes have expanded to include works inspired by cobblestones and glowing embers from fireplaces he encountered during a visit to Paris.

Yoshikawa's work adorns the walls of the Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art and the JAL First Class Lounge at Narita Airport. In the fall of 2022, his solo exhibition at Galerie Tamenaga's Paris store was featured in a French art magazine, steadily establishing a solid foundation and garnering expectations for his activities both domestically and internationally.
