Tanryo Murata
The mural "Taisho Political Change" adorning the Meiji Jingu Gaien Seitokukinen Art Gallery is the work of the modern Japanese painter Tanryo Murata (1872–1940), a piece that many have encountered in textbooks. This exhibition, the first major retrospective focusing on Murata, features a total of 64 works, including the underlying sketch of his representative work, the mural "Taisho Political Change," providing insight into the lesser-known artist Tanryo Murata.
