Etsuro Ishihara was a gallerist who founded Zeit-Foto Salon, Japan's first commercial photo gallery, in Nihonbashi Muromachi in 1978. Ishihara was one of the first to realize the artistic potential of photography and founded the photo gallery. In 1985, he established the Tsukuba Museum of Photography, the first museum of photography in Japan, and has since been active in the field of photography as a curator and critic.

Etsuro Ishihara is an indispensable figure in the history of photographers as artists and the acceptance of photography as "art. This exhibition, the second installment, highlights Japanese photographers and their work, focusing on the trajectory of Ishihara's activities and his collection. Rare original prints by Japanese artists such as Ihei Kimura, Shoji Ueda, Issei Suda, Kineo Kuwabara, Nobuyoshi Araki, Daido Moriyama, and Miyako Ishiuchi, who developed their careers through their friendship with Etsuro Ishihara, held solo exhibitions, sold prints, and later gained international recognition, will be displayed and sold.
