The Kitakyushu International Manga Festival is celebrating its 8th edition with a focus on international cultural exchange through manga. Held in Kitakyushu, a city historically prosperous as the gateway to Asia, the event showcases the unique characteristics of manga as a global medium. The main event of this year's festival is the The Bride's Stories by Kaoru Mori featuring original art from Mori's manga series depicting brides in 19th-century Central Asia.
