The Creation Date of Japanese Swords

Shusui Museum of Art
Finished
The exhibition “The Creation Date of Japanese Swords” held in 2020 was closed after only one week due to the spread of the new coronavirus.
We are pleased to announce the reopening of this exhibition in the 3rd floor viewing room.
In order to introduce the history and development of Japanese swords over the past thousand years, we have selected works that have “kinen-mei” inscriptions, which are inscriptions that clearly indicate the year of production, to introduce the events and culture of the period in which the swords were created. We hope that visitors will enjoy viewing these swords while thinking back to the birthdays of the swords that have survived through the years to the present day.
