The Great Adventure of Knowledge - The Brilliance of the Renowned Treasures of the Tōyō Bunko

Nagasaki Museum of History and Culture
Finished
The Toyo Bunko (located in Bunkyo, Tokyo) was established in 1924 by Mitsubishi's third president, Hisaya Iwasaki. It is one of the world's five largest libraries for Asian studies and boasts the largest collection in the field of Oriental studies in Asia. This exhibition will showcase valuable holdings from Toyo Bunko's collection of approximately one million volumes, including national treasures and important cultural properties. The venue will not only display well-known books, maps, and paintings seen in textbooks but also reveal lesser-known aspects such as languages, clothing, and flora and fauna. Embark on an adventure in the vast "ocean of books" that unfolds the diverse world of the East.
