Yamato-e painting, which originated during the Heian era, generally depicts scenes of the four seasons. Inheriting this sense of beauty from the Rinpa and the Yamato-e Revival schools of the Edo era, Yamato-e has developed in various ways, and this exhibition explores its essence.
