The Japanese Empire and Forests: Conservation and Development of Forest Resource in Modern East Asia

Teikyo University Museum
Finished
The exhibition was initially scheduled to honor the release of the book bearing the same title, which came out in February 2023 following seven years of extensive research. Jointly authored by seven specialists, it investigates the nexus between imperialism, environmentalism, and forestry in the former Japanese Empire. The exhibition, hosted at Teikyo University, showcases summarized chapters alongside rarely seen archival materials. Additionally, it features a unique collaboration with Teikyo's art collection, curated by the traveling exhibition director, offering a fresh perspective on the era. It provides a novel fusion of academia and art, made possible by inter-university cooperation.
