In the late Meiji period (1868-1912), as printing technology spread, Shozaburo Watanabe further sublimated the traditional Ukiyo-e production techniques that had continued since the Edo period and established the genre of "shin-hanga" (new prints). This exhibition focuses on Watanabe’s publishing house, Watanabe Print Shop, and introduces the charm of "new prints" by Hasui Kawase, Shinsui Ito, Fritz Capelari, and others.
