Joan Miró
Joan Miró (1893–1983) was a leading Spanish master of the twentieth century. Adamant about the natural features of his native Catalonia, he sought inspiration in the earth, and converted the sun, moon, stars, birds, etc. into uniquely abstract elements to create a poetic, cosmic world. This exhibition focuses on his prints. Miró undertook printmaking seriously from age 35 and produced more than 2,500 works during his lifetime. Through approximately 150 works dating from his early years to late in life, the world of prints by Miró joined to the riches of nature is introduced.
