Yuto Yonemura
Yuto Yonemura has been presenting spatial compositions mainly using sculptures as installation works. Yonemura says that he pays attention to "imperfection" due to "weakness" and "failure," rather than the "strength," "magnificence," and "sublimity" that emphasize the masculinity of many statues. The sculptures contain very personal stories and a variety of emotions such as pain, awe, longing, and helplessness. The parts of the human sculpture are deformed and disjointed, the majestic unipersonality of the Greek statues is ruined, and the sublime is lost in the clouds. Nevertheless, the installation, composed of self-made apparatuses, workbenches, and everyday objects, certainly conveys the reality of the current era.
