The World of Hina

Toyama Memorial Museum
Finished
The exhibition traces the history of Japanese dolls by displaying various types of dolls from the mid-Edo period to the mid-Showa period, focusing on Tachi-Hina, Kyoho Hina, Kokin Hina, and dolls by modern master craftsmen Sashiro Kubo, Eitokuzai, and Heizo Ohki. Also on display this year is the Important Art Object "Buryo Tougenzu Scroll" in connection with the Peach Festival. Previously, the museum was unable to display the entirety of this long scroll in the open position, but this year, with the renovation of the exhibition room, it will be possible for the first time to show all the scenes of this work. In the hall of the Toyama Residence, visitors can also view the "Toyama Family's Hina Decorations," which fill the 10-tatami mat room.
