The manga "Thermae Romae" by Mari Yamazaki enhanced the sense of familiarity with Roman baths. In this exhibition, Lucius, the manga's main character, will serve as a guide to introduce the ancient Roman Thermae and the Japanese bathhouse culture.

Based on the concept of "a museum of encounters and the five senses," the Oita Prefectural Art Museum is an art museum open to the city, located in the center of Oita City. Designed by world-renowned architect Shigeru Ban, it features an impressive exterior that evokes the traditional Oita craft of bamboo art and open atrium space for everyone to enjoy. The museum holds permanent collection exhibitions of work by artists associated with Oita, such as nanga painter Chikuden Tanomura, nihonga artist Heihachiro Fukuda, sculptor Fumio Asakura, and bamboo craftsman Shounsai Ikuno, as well as unique self-produced exhibitions based on various "encounters" about four times a year. The museum also has a free space with exhibits, a café, and a museum store where visitors can easily come into contact with art.
