The Tobiu Art Community will host the Tobiu Art Festival in September 2022. This annual event held since 2009 opens the forest to the public, featuring the woods and a wooden school building as venues for exhibitions and other events. Forestation work for this year’s festival began in the spring, with preparations to improve the forest and the area surrounding the school in time for the fall event. The forestation project, while a small community effort, has been ongoing since 2011 and has created intergenerational exchange.
