Artists

Torajiro Kojima
Torajiro Kojima, a representative Impressionist painter of Japan. He played a pivotal role in the collection of Western paintings that laid the foundation of the Ohara Museum of Art. However, Kojima was also an extremely talented artist and a collector of artworks. This exhibition, while unraveling the image of Kojima, a painter who passed away at the young age of 47, will not only explore his artistic career but also various artistic activities, his belongings, and numerous artworks collected by himself, including Oriental, Chinese, and Korean artworks, from a new perspective. Some of these items will be publicly displayed for the first time at our museum.
