Touring Minato City with Edo Period Maps

Minato City Local History Museum
Finished
About 170 years ago, at the end of the Edo period, people used divided maps called "kiri-ezu" to navigate Edo. This special exhibition will teach visitors how to read these maps and explore Minato Ward during that era. The exhibition will also feature ukiyo-e prints and items from daimyo residences. Visitors can compare kiri-ezu with modern maps to find unchanged temples, shrines, and roads, and discover what their home’s or school’s location looked like in the Edo period.
