Gallery 38 is pleased to present the "Toy Metamorphosisー Creating Art From the Past" exhibition in collaboration with Toy and Art, a project that creates art by upcycling toys. In preparation for this exhibition, children spent approximately four months studying and creating "self-portraits." They learned that a self-portrait is not necessarily a faithful copy of their own face but rather an expression of themselves, and from there, they worked on drafts, toy selection, and production. In addition, six active artists/designers who support this activity are participating in this exhibition. The works created using the same materials (toys) as the children, and utilizing their respective areas of expertise, will also be on display at this exhibition.
