Yamagata Biennale 2022 is a festival seeking connection in every context through the aid of art and design. Taking the theme “transcending the chaos of life and connecting to it,” this event creates a space in Yamagata Prefecture where visitors can find connection and move towards new relationships with nature as acts of healing in this fractured world.

Venues: Street locations in and around Yamagata City, Yamagata Prefecture; Yamagata Prefecture Local Museum “Bunshokan”; Yamagata Creative City Center Q1 (Former Yamagata City Daiichi Elementary School); Yamagin Kenmin Hall; Shopping arcades; Renovated buildings

Hours	9:00-16:30
Closed	Closed on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, unless this falls on a public holiday (in which case the venue is open). Closed during the New Year holidays. (12/29-1/3)
Notice	Open on Fridays, Saturdays, and public holidays only for a total of 12 days between September 3 and September 25 (except for some venues). Opening hours vary by venue. Please see the official website for details.
