The Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media [YCAM] will exhibit Ryuichi Sakamoto + YCAM's installation work "Forest Symphony" as part of the exhibition series "Yamaguchi Seasonal 2023," in which YCAM's installation works created and presented so far will be exhibited in the city center of Yamaguchi City and historical sites.
The work is a sound installation that generates sound from the bio-data of trees around the world and is one of YCAM's representative works created in collaboration between artists and YCAM using media technology. Since 2020, the work has been exhibited for a limited time at Jyoeiji Temple in Yamaguchi City, known for its "Sesshu Garden," and this will be the fourth consecutive year that the work has been exhibited there.
Through this work, which delicately captures the changes in nature and makes the viewer slowly become aware of the environment that surrounds us, the exhibition will create an opportunity to rediscover the charm of Yamaguchi's nature and famous sites, as well as the intrinsic appeal of the work.
