Yasuhisa Kawada, Kazumichi Komatsu
Myheirloom celebrated its first anniversary in October, having set up its current gallery space after participating in last year’s 3331 Art Fair 2021.

The exhibition commemorates the gallery's first anniversary by featuring two young artists of the same generation, Yasuhisa Kawada and Kazumichi Komatsu, as a space to enclose the worldviews of both artists.

The exhibition is held in natural light through the glass windows at People and in the darkness of Myheirloom with the lights dimmed, to create a viewing experience that takes advantage of the unique characteristics of each venue. The two artists have been friends since high school and have been looking for an opportunity for a two-person exhibition for some time, which led to the planning of this exhibition at Komatsu's initiative.

In recent years, Kawada has been developing two-dimensional work in which he replicates membranes by pouring silicon into molds formed from painted motifs and then fixes them to frames and other objects. Komatsu has recently been developing two-dimensional works in which LED illumination lights with the same emission pattern are encased in a 3D-printed box-shaped dial.

This exhibition presents new work by both Kawada and Komatsu. The works of both artists have a definite presence even in an indistinct field of vision, and gradually begin to take on a different meaning through repetition.
