Yasuko Hirano
Yasuko Hirano was born in Toyama Prefecture in 1985 and graduated from Kyoto Seika University in 2007 with a degree in Western painting from the Department of Fine Arts, Faculty of Art. Since then, she has continued to present her work regularly and was selected for the 2015 VOCA exhibition. She continues to work energetically in Kanagawa Prefecture.

In Hirano's work, the canvas is first stretched over a wooden panel, and glue and plaster are applied as a base. After the dried base is carefully polished, the work is then covered with layers of oil paint in the three primary colors of red, blue, and yellow.

The strange, rich paintings with complex depth, which are difficult to focus on, are one answer to Hirano's two-dimensional paintings, which have consistently focused on the act of 'seeing' and 'being seen' and the relationship between the two. In addition, she has made a new reference this time to the 'surplus' that arises through action. Exploring the correlation between these two aspects will materialize the possibilities of painting in the future.

In this exhibition, Hirano's first solo show at Artdyne, approximately 15 new works will be exhibited and sold.
