Yasuyuki Takagi
Yasuyuki Takagi, who has been working internationally, embarked on a photographic journey in Brooklyn in 1993. Motivated by a deep curiosity to explore a new environment, Takagi initiated the long-term project "Brooklyn Lot Recordings," which continued until 2005. The tragedy of September 11, 2001, led to the gentrification of Brooklyn, bringing fundamental changes with the upscale transformation of lower-income residential areas. Now, over 20 years later, the photo series has been revived in the form of a book, demonstrating the enduring power of photography to capture the essence of a time and place for future generations.
