Yoichi Ochiai
Yoichi Ochiai loves waves, like those of light and sound. He finds affection in moments where such installations naturalize, become part of the landscape, quietly fading away- moments that occasionally dissolve time and space, blurring existence. Silence is born from within noise, and noise is born from silence. Reflecting on the relationship between figures and ground within the realms of sound and light, Ochiai contemplates constructing a new nature between the observer and the observed. "Nurian," born from this train of thought, is a space that generates new resonance between substance and non-substance, reality and unreality. This tea room, as part of the vernacular folk art of computational nature, extracts, distorts, and moves urban collages of landscapes, presenting them as artworks. Capturing moments where the reality experienced in everyday life transforms into unreality, aiming for a space where nothing becomes something, and where tranquility and turmoil intersect.

Lenses and mirrors manipulating light and shadows reflect, distort, and transform the consciousness of the viewer.

The affection for installations resembling structures, sculptures, or floral arrangements cut out from the industrial society, sometimes leads to readymades of industrial products, habitual actions, or forms of differentiated beliefs. Here, within the computational nature, Ochiai wishes to contemplate the role of the tea room as an opportunity to embody ethics and norms imprinted in mass through tools.

*While some artworks are free to appreciate, viewing all pieces and entering the tea room requires a reserved tea ceremony experience ticket for a specified date and time. Tickets can be purchased on the ArtSticker exhibition page.
