Yoshino Gypsum Co., Ltd., headquartered in Tokyo, aims to contribute culturally to its place of origin, Yamagata Prefecture. To achieve this, the company has entrusted Western paintings to the Yamagata Museum of Art (a public interest incorporated foundation) and Japanese modern paintings to the Tendo City Museum of Art.

This exhibition will focus on work by representative painters of modern Japanese painting, such as Taikan Yokoyama, Shoen Uemura, Ryuzaburo Umehara, and Sotaro Yasui. Additionally, there will be an opportunity to view work by artists with a limited number of pieces due to early deaths, such as Yuzo Saeki and Gyoshu Hayami.

The exhibition also includes works by artists who thrived during the Edo period, such as Jakuchu Ito and Kiitsu Suzuki, as well as the renowned landscape painter Kaii Higashiyama, and Ikuo Hirayama who advocated for world peace with the Silk Road as his theme. On display will be a total of 95 works by these illustrious painters.
