Yoshinori Fujita
In parallel with his design work, Yoshinori Fujita began creating drawings in 2020, in which straight lines, gentle lines, circles, and squares are superimposed on abstract motifs. Each work evokes elements of Abstract Expressionism, which prevailed in New York in the 1940s and 1950s, and the subsequent trend of minimal art.

Perhaps because Fujita is a graphic designer, it is possible to interpret his work not only in the context of art, but also from the perspective of design, and the intersection of these two areas creates a unique world.

Another characteristic of Fujita's work is that he uses various types of paper, rather than canvas. He considers the paper to be a part of the work, and he adds a certain amount of effort to the material in order to create depth, layering paint on top of the paper to create a quiet aesthetic.

This exhibition will be Fujita's first solo show.
