Artists

Yu Asagiri
Asagiri Yu, a top manga artist for the long-established girls' manga magazine "Nakayoshi" throughout the 1980s, surprised readers in 1994 by suddenly releasing a series of BL (boys' love) works.

Her works before her debut clearly show the footprints of her search to depict the BL world as it is known today. It can be said that Asagiridid not devote herself to BL in her later years, but rather returned to her roots.

This exhibition traces her path, introducing rare works from before her debut as well as beautiful original color illustrations from her transition to BL. Of course, color illustrations from her days in girls' magazines will also be presented.
