Yuichi Yamazaki, Sakura Yabe
An exhibition by Yuichi Yamazaki and Sakura Yabe. Yamazaki is a glass artist who mainly uses the sandblasting technique. The patterns on her sandblasted vases and other pieces are delicate, with striking designs that evoke a sense of fragility and poetic beauty. Yabe makes lacquer wares, paintings, and wood works. Often featuring feathers, flowers, or creatures, Yabe's works evoke a sense of levitation and the extraordinary. Using Swedish craft techniques, Yabe also creates Swedish weaving tools called "heddles" and wood carvings.
