Yuji Hamada
This exhibition celebrates the release of the photographer Yusuke Hamada's "Light There," published by Fragile Books.

Hamada continuously questions what photography is and explores new territory by collecting "light that exists" without using film.

The journey began in the summer of 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. In response to the state of emergency due to the novel coronavirus, Hamada conducted an unprecedented experiment using aluminum plates (PS plates) that react only to ultraviolet light, replacing conventional film. This experiment led to the creation of "light there."

Conceived as a "Portable Museum," the book includes 20 photographic plates along with an unused "photosensitive aluminum plate." In a unique attempt, if this plate is sent back after exposure, Yusuke Hamada will develop and return it.

At the exhibition, several dozen original works that inspired the book will be displayed across the 1st and 2nd floors.

On the opening day, November 18th (Saturday), from 17:00 to 19:00, a reception party open to everyone will be held.
