Yukari Ohira
Yukari Ohira, a native of Gifu Prefecture, moved to Tsunagi Town in June 2020 as a Chiiki Okoshi Kyorokutai or local community development volunteer after participating in the "Artist in Residence Tsunagi 2019." Ohira, who creates artworks in collaboration with people based on traditional Japanese painting materials and techniques, experienced the torrential rains in July 2020 immediately after moving to the town and has been actively involved in community activities as a resident, including joining the women's fire brigade. The aim of this exhibition, which displays the results of her three-year residency, is to provide an opportunity to reconsider the relationship between artists and local communities.
