Artists

Yuki Sakuta
Yuki Sakuta is an artist based in Kyoto. Drawing inspiration from memorable words, stories and myths from the past, as well as unfamiliar phrases found in novels and music, these elements serve as starting points for the paintings. Feelings of dissonance and interpretation related to memory are incorporated into the work. Main motifs include trees and flowers, and the flowing, rhythmic brushwork creates rich compositions that resonate with the vitality of plants and the expansive nature of the captured words and stories. This exhibition features six new works titled after words found in novels and the Collection of a Myriad Leaves, along with an accompanying essay.
