Yukina Komiya
As part of the Open Lobby Program, Naha Art is hosting an exhibition by Yukina Komiya, an artist originally from Okinawa who is currently based in Taiwan. Komiya has created works centered on themes of cultural fusion and identity, and this time, she presents an installation that documents the "Re-heat and Reborn" project, which she carried out in 2023 in memory of her late grandmother.

The installation explores the intersection of Okinawa's "kajimaya" tradition—a celebration of longevity—and "Zhizha," the essential paper crafts used in religious rituals and funerary customs in Chinese-speaking regions. Through this "kajimaya for the deceased," the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on life and death, communication with the deceased, and the issues surrounding a super-aged society.
