An invitation to the glass world of mental images. Colorful colored glass dwells within the transparent glass that reflects the mind. Yumi Shioda creates unique works at her glass studio in Azumino. She attempts to trap mental images inside of glass and expresses them beautifully. Shioda's goal is to capture a momentary state of mind that is woven together by the surface texture of the glass and the patterns inside. The works are mesmerizing, giving the viewer the feeling as if he or she is touching the depths of the mind.
