Shuntokumichi is the name of a railway station along the railway line traversing Higashi-Osaka, derived from the legend of Shuntokumaru.

In this exhibition, contemporary artist Yusuke Nakano/Paramodel, known for his installations featuring plastic toy train tracks connecting and occupying space with blue lines, will showcase works inspired by the Shuntokumaru legend passed down in his hometown of Higashi-Osaka.

Nakano has been interested in the relationship between absence and creation since before his unit activities, and for over a decade since encountering the local legend has continued research and artwork production.

Nakano's blue tracks, crawling on walls and floors, are never completed. Instead, giant drawings and multiple videos created based on entertainment and literature related to Shuntokumaru are connected. These elements will transform the Higashi-Osaka Civic Arts Center into a fictional, giant city, resembling the roads running vertically and horizontally across Higashi-Osaka and the rivers meandering through Kawachi Plain.
